May Culture Club Prompt: Poetry

It’s Gonna Be May...

We had to... because we are announcing this months POP CULTURE prompt!!!

POETRY
Whether it’s a celeb you idolize someone in media or even just a poetry author. We wanted to slow down this month and enjoy some inspirational words...

I’ll be reading I WOULD LEAVE ME IF I COULD ... a collection of poetry by @iamhalsey

And head over to Jess’s @the_afterword page to see what she will be reading!

We hope you can join us! As always we will be giving away a book off one Pop Culture Lovers wish list at the end of the month so make sure to tag us in you stories as well as your reviews! We have the templates saved in our highlights!

What’s a poetry book you love?

Favorite Middle Grades In April

I’m continuing my MIDDLE GRADE READS and these were my favorite for April...

BLOOMABILITY
Dinnie has been everywhere or at least she thought so until she is “kidnapped” by her Aunt and Uncle and taken to a school in Switzerland where she meets kids from different cultures and backgrounds this book was so fun and I wish I read it when I was younger!

THE LAND OF ROAR
When you come across a magical land while cleaning out your grandfathers attic... every kids dream...! And adventure for all Narnia LOVERS!

THE BOOKWANDERERS
For the children’s book enthusiast and the one who wants to get lost in a book....this one was so fun to hear classics revisited.

THREE KEYS
The sequel to Front Desk but can easily be read as a standalone.... Young heroine Mia and her friends and family at the Calivista Hotel are back! A story full of heart during troubling times. I can’t get enough of these books and waiting till this one comes out in Paperback to add to the shelf!

Did you read any middle grades this past month? Or do any of these sound good?

Foes & Cons

HAPPY PUB DAY

FOES AND CONS

A best friends turned enemies to lovers situation was everything I never knew I needed!

Blair and Sawyer were best friends growing up. Until Blair finds a pros and cons list about her in Sawyers room and their friendship comes crashing to a halt during a game of spin the bottle...

For two years they have been enemies now Sawyer is Mr. Popular and while Blair not so much. Until one day Blair stands up to Sawyer and the chemistry it’s a al time high!

@authorcarriea you have done it again... the high school setting, young love, and just youth in general was so fun to read. It definitely took me back! This one is full of angst and characters you will love!

I’ll be preaching about Carrie forever so go snag this one or one of her other amazing books!

Happy Friday!

What are you looking forward to this weekend?

The Greatest Hoax

THE GREATEST HOAX ON EARTH: CATCHING TRUTH WHILE WE CAN

This book is catching some buzz...

Is the con mans con a con?

Are you familiar with the name Frank Abagnale? If not you may remember a movie that came out in 2002 CATCH ME IF YOU CAN... a biographical crime film based on Abagnale’s life.

The Greatest Hoax reveals the very different world of a grown man still running small-time grifts in the mid-1970s-living in his parole officer's garage after he was caught stealing from a Houston children's camp. This makes his overnight rise to stardom all the more stunning. Selling fiction as fact, the con man found his greatest mark in global audiences. And the world bought it. In the inverted reality of the post-truth era, this book reveals that Frank W. Abagnale may have earned the mantle of "the world's greatest con man" for entirely different reasons.

Thank you @emily_keough_publicity for this gifted copy!

Are you familiar with this story? Or did you ever watch the movie?

For reference growing up Leo was my guy... after Pauly Shore 🥰
